Madonna in Fresno?

For those of you who think that Fresno is just a pitstop on the way to Yosemite, it was announced today that Madonna has included Fresno as a concert on her world tour. See, we’re part of the world just like you.

Yup, we also get the opportunity to watch a middle-aged woman embarrass her children. Can’t get much better than that.

I’m sure that this is recognition of Fresno’s place on the world stage. Or it could be that we are on the map between San Jose (May 30) and Phoenix (June 8). This concert is the only one scheduled between those two appearances.

Tickets cost between $55 and $350.

What is there to say about Fresno? We have an ex-actor as mayor, a school district that cries poor (and blames that on the teachers, but ends the year with a surplus), an “old boys network” like you would not believe, and a city council that does not know what it is doing from one day to the next.
